Every quarter, I get an email from Faire telling me Made By Scratch Crafts has earned Top Shop status again.
And every quarter, I smile... then go right back to work.
I realized recently I've never actually talked about what that little badge means to me.
When I started Made By Scratch Crafts in 2021, I simply wanted to create fun gifts for fellow cat lovers and find a way to give back to the cat community.
I never imagined that a few years later my products would be on the shelves of cat cafés, gift shops, bookstores, pet boutiques, pharmacies, and other small businesses across the country.
That still amazes me.
One thing hasn't changed, though.
Made By Scratch Crafts is still a one-woman business based in Pennsylvania. I still answer every email, make every product, pack every order, and probably have at least one cat supervising the whole process.
So when I see that little Top Shop badge, I don't really think of it as an award.
I think about the retailers behind it.
The shop owner who took a chance on a brand they'd never heard of.
The retailer who came back to place another order... and then another.
The emails, the reviews, and the encouragement I've received over the years.
Because without retailers like you, there wouldn't be a Top Shop badge to earn in the first place.
That's what that little badge represents to me.
Faire awards Top Shop status to brands that consistently provide a great wholesale experience through things like positive retailer reviews, repeat business, reliable fulfillment, and a quality catalog. While I'm honored that Made By Scratch Crafts continues to earn that recognition, I know it's only possible because of the amazing retailers who choose to support my business.
At the end of the day, the Top Shop badge isn't something I try to collect. It's something I try to earn, one order at a time.
